Hot Mommy Makeover

I should have started this page a month ago, for that is when I saw the picture that inspired me to give myself a complete makeover in the course of a year.  Some of the things that I want to accomplish won't take a year.  In fact, I have already accomplished one.  But at least one of my goals will take more like 18 months.  Let's start from the beginning!

I am a wife and mother to two children, ages 4 and 2.  After my son was born, I went on Weight Watchers because my physician told me that the gestational diabetes that I had with both children would easily turn into full blown type 2 diabetes if I did not get my weight under control.  At the time. I weighed 202.2 lbs according to weight watchers and 198 stark naked in my bathroom.  Over the course of 7 or 8 months,  I lost 25 lbs and weighed in at one of my last meetings at 177 lbs!  In April of that year, there was a traumatic event shook my world.  My father, whom I loved and adored, decided to take his life.  Over the next 18 months, I gained back every pound I lost plus some.

This summer, we went to Disney World as a family.  Like I said, I will post the picture in one of my first blogs, but it was then that it finally sunk in that something needs to change.  I knew I was overweight again.  But I didn't realize how bad I let it get until I looked at myself in the family photos.  There was one in particular that inspired me to make a large change.  There is nothing about this picture that says that I am happy or healthy, even in the happiest place on earth.  The rolls of my belly hang over my legs as I sit awkwardly, posing for the picture with a half smile.  When I got home from Disney World, I stepped on the scale to face what the picture had already told me.  I was 203.5 lbs, stark naked, in my bathroom.

Since that time, I have joined www.myfitnesspal.com.  I have started to monitor and track my calories in addition to exercising daily.  I have just ordered the CharLEAN Extreme exercise system as well.

So, as you may have guessed, my first goal over the next year is to not only lose weight but to get into shape.  But I have a few other goals as well, so below is my list of goals to accomplish over the next 18 months.

1. Fix my nails (done and the easiest to accomplish!)
2. Fix the chips in my teeth
3. Whiten my teeth (began 2 nights before the start of this blog)
4. Continue on www.myfitnesspal.com
5. Lose a total of 43.5 lbs. (already started 30 days before the start of this blog.  Current weight 193.4 lbs)
6. Build muscle tone
7. Wear a bikini
8. Run in a 5k
9. Get my Masters in technology
10. Create a more healthy lifestyle for myself and my family
